The Ministry of Yet and Our Climb to 50

Join the Mission

Last October, I was sitting in a coffee shop nursing an overpriced Latte and drafting a document that outlines Parable Media’s growth goals and strategic plans for 2025. This is actually one of my favorite parts of my role as our Minister of Development and Strategic Growth.

At Parable, my job is to help prayerfully and strategically build partnerships with foundations, ministries, church mission teams, donors, and other stakeholders or supporters. I also help oversee a lot of the housekeeping things that come with donations (acknowledgment letters, giving software like GiveButter, etc). Best of all, I get to help discern the strategy and direction that God is leading our small but increasingly active nonprofit in.

Let me preface this by saying, that the best advice from any fundraising professional is to NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS set a donor goal by the number of donors. Normally, you start out by looking at a financial need or fundraising (amount) goal, then setting your sights on that. Giving platforms don’t even allow you to set goals based on the number of donors, they operate based on the amount given. Yet….

Yet. There’s a word that will preach a whole sermon. Yet is often God’s way of calling us into new, unexpected places and disrupting our plans for the better.

Yet, I felt that the Spirit was leading me to set our sights on growing by number, rather than by amount. Internally, we know what amount we need to make certain projects happen and to get particular goals accomplished, yet, I felt that God was leading us to focus on inviting people to the mission of sharing the gospel online and through well-produced digital ministry.

Even after lots of reflection and wondering, why 50? Why not 40, a great biblical number, or 3, a really easy-to-reach goal… the number 50 just felt like what we were being called to pursue.

God is mysterious and calls us to participate in the divine mystery in really small and practical ways. We are hoping you fell called to participate in our ministry of yet:

You have every reason to hold on to your hard-earned money… yet, some will choose to join us in telling stories and equipping leaders.

You may not know Parable Media, perhaps you were sent this by a friend and supporter of our ministry, yet… you feel compelled to join this ministry as a donor.

Your congregation has only ever directed missions giving towards traditional missionaries who are called to go, which has always meant physically… yet you are considering what it might mean to give to the digital ministry of the local church and reach people for the gospel online rather than in person.

You are impressed by the job Parable has done for your church or ministry but the job is already done yet… you are feeling called to give to support others that you may never encounter.

You have always approached your work and call with a competitive outlook, wanting your ministry to shine brighter than others, yet… you are feeling motivated to help others and broaden your thinking from a “me versus them” to an “us, together” missions mentality, that lead you to support other gospel ministries.

You are not sure where your money will go if you give with abundance and without restriction… yet you trust that God is doing a new and glorious thing through your faithfulness and generosity.

We pray that the Spirit is working within you and leading you to give generously, inviting those around you to gospel work. We pray that you engage in the spiritual practice of tithing at church and through ministries like Parable Media.  We pray that you are called into the ministry of YET, led by the Spirit to become more like Jesus in unexpected ways and places.

If you are being called to join 49 others in giving to Parable Media in this season, we invite you to give because our mission is important. If you are being so led to join us, here is our invitation:

In an age where digital presence is no longer optional but essential for ministry, Parable Media stands as a crucial bridge between the church and the digital world. Their unique combination of professional expertise, ministry understanding, and commitment to affordability makes them an invaluable partner in sharing the gospel message online.

By joining the Climb to 50 campaign, donors become part of a larger story – one where every Christian organization has the opportunity to share their message effectively in the digital age. Whether through a one-time gift or ongoing support, every contribution helps expand the reach and impact of Christian ministry in the digital space.

For those who believe in the power of storytelling to share the gospel and the importance of helping churches navigate the digital landscape, supporting Parable Media represents an opportunity to make a lasting impact. As they continue to bridge the gap between faith and technology, their work ensures that the timeless message of the gospel remains accessible and engaging for contemporary audiences.
